Napier is a small village with a big heart. Life moves a little slower here — it's part of the magic.

STOEP is a unique and character-filled bed and breakfast with four en suite bedrooms, each one individually decorated with bold colours, local art, and iconic Basotho blankets. Drawing inspiration from South African culture, this home-away-from-home offers comfort, creativity, and soul.

The house dates back to the late 19th century and is full of character — the kind of place with a few quirks, which is exactly what makes it special.

STOEP offers four uniquely South African-inspired rooms, each with its own character, colour palette, and story to tell.

Whether you're drawn to the regal calm of the Blue Room, the golden glow of the tumeric Room, or the charm of the Peach and Green front stoep rooms, STOEP invites you to settle in, slow down, and feel at home.

The Peach Room

The Peach Room, located on the front stoep, is our charming smaller room. It features a beautiful old ball-and-claw double bed and evokes the comforting feeling of your grandmother's bedroom — nostalgic, gentle, and full of character.

The Green Room

The Green Room is our second smaller room, situated on the front stoep. It features a queen-size extra-length bed and is painted in a vibrant, joyful green. Light pours in through the front window, filling the room with warmth and energy.

The Blue Room

The Blue Room is one of our larger rooms and carries a distinctly regal feel. Two original art deco armchairs invite you to sit back on a cool evening with a glass of wine or a whiskey on ice. This is the only room with both a shower and a bath.

The tumeric Room

The Tumeric Room is one of the other larger rooms, painted in a rich ochre that radiates warmth and depth. The king-size extra-length bed can be converted into two single beds. The room features vibrant African-printed armchairs and original artworks.

stoep Studio

Where village life meets creative soul.

Alongside the main house is our working Stoep Studio — a lively creative space filled with original artwork and regular hands-on workshops. It’s a place to slow down, play, and get your hands a little bit messy in the best possible way.

Every workshop offers a chance to learn new skills, explore your creativity and have fun along the way. Sip, snack, laugh and leave with a piece of art that’s uniquely yours. Guest artists are also invited to use the studio to run their own workshops and share their craft with the community.
